Brett Gordon scoresCompetitors were impressed with the level of competition and regarded it as an equavalent of a test. Bret Gordon, a young 15-yr-old competitor, explained:
“The experience and memories from the tournament are unforgettable. Watching almost every discipline imaginable, I was intrigued by their stunning performances. Everything from Musical Weapons to XMA Katas to Olympic style Sparring, the dedication evident in every athlete cannot be matched at any other sporting event, in my opinion. My expectations for next year’s tournament are that it will be an even “bigger and better” event than this year. Making friends and witnessing the best of the best is what competition is all about and I am proud to say I was a part of it.”

Champions Unite”; Zachary Bergollo, Nick Schilling & Nikolas BergolloThis sentiment was echoed by many others spectators.  Friday night was an incredible evening of traditional and contemporary disciplines, and even the extremely popular sports of Sports Grappling, Jiu-Jitsu & MMA.  It was impressive to see young women compete against the guys and in some instances dominate the mats.  The Tiger Claw competition ended at 6 p.m. and the Kick International National Championships began with the adult divisions and team competitions.

It was amazing to see these little kids fighting with techniques just Patrick Garcia shows off his Disney Medallike the big guys. The outcome wasn’t important; it was the spirit of competition burning in the hearts of these diminutive competitors that truly impressed.  As the little guys draped the medals around the necks of their opponents, the roar of the crowd was deafening.
